APHC HAILS OIC CHIEF’S STATEMENT ON KASHMIR URGES INT’L COMMUNITY TO HELP SETTLE KASHMIR DISPUTE

All Parties Hurriyet Conference has welcomed the recent statement of the Secretary General of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Ameen Madani, wherein he stressed on the need to settle the Kashmir dispute.

According to media sources, Iyad Ameen Madani addressing the 28th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva said that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people through a result-oriented dialogue.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the UN and the international community to use their influence for initiating a meaningful dialogue among Pakistan, India and the Kashmiris to resolve the dispute, once for all. He termed the efforts of the OIC regarding settlement of the dispute as extremely encouraging.

“Lingering Kashmir dispute is the main source of insecurity and instability in the entire South Asia. The policy of time-pass is not going to work and the time has come to show seriousness and resolve the dispute to end tension and insecurity prevailing in the region,” he said.

The spokesman said that the APHC had always advocated cordial relations between Pakistan and India which was important to settle the Kashmir conflict and other contentious issues between the two nuclear armed neighbours. He said that the Kashmir dispute needed to be given priority and resolved on urgent basis to ensure permanent peace in South Asia.

Meanwhile, an APHC delegation led by Musadiq Adil and including Abdul Majeed Wani, Molvi Mir Ghulam Hassan and Farooq Ahmed Mamoosi visited Dadsara and Noorpora areas of Tral to pay tributes to two youth, Idress

Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad, who were recently martyred by Indian troops. The delegation members offered condolences and expressed solidarity with the family members of the martyred youth.
