In occupied Kashmir, mother of freedom leader, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi passed away after a prolonged illness in Srinagar, today. According to media sources, the funeral prayers of the deceased were held at Bemina in which a large numbers of people including Hurriyet leaders, religious scholars, trade union leaders, civil society members and members of various organizations participated. The leaders who attended the funereal included Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Bashir Ahmad Butt, Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari, Moulana, Reyaz Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Altaf Shah, Bilal Sideeqi, Muhammad Saleem Zargar,Akbar Ayaz,Mehraj ud Din Kalwal, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Mohammad Musadiq Aadil, Farooq Ahmad, sheikh Musaib, Farooq Ahmad Dar ,Wajahat Quraishee, Javed Ahmad Mir, Tahir Ahmad Mir, General Musa, Altaf Aalamgeer and Firdous Ahmad Shah, Syed Salim Gilani and Muhammad Iqbal Mir. Meanwhile, the Hurriyet leaders, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter in a condolence meeting held in Islamabad on Monday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of the mother of Islamic Students League head, Shakeel Ahmad Bakhshi, the death of the uncle of Bashir Ahmad Tota and the demise of the mother of Kashmiri journalist, Younas Baig.
In occupied Kashmir, the Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Zamruda Habib has said that the coalition regime of BJP and PDP is working on the RSS agenda in the territory.
According to media sources, Zamruda Habib addressing a big gathering of women in Kulgam said that the puppet regime was promoting and implement the agenda of RSS in the occupied territory and the people of Kashmir should be aware about it. Denouncing the desecration of Srinagar Jamia Masjid, the Hurriyet leader said that the puppet regime had turned Kashmir into a police state, where police had been given free hand without any accountability. She termed teargas shelling in Jamia Masjid as a barbaric act. Zamruda Habib reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the liberation struggle till complete success. She also appealed to the United Nations to fulfill its responsibility and help grant Kashmiris their birthright to self-determination.
In occupied Kashmir, the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, while strongly condemning the forced occupation of the 150 year old Muslims graveyard land of Baghe Jogian village in the Bishnah tehsil of the Jammu by the goons of the RSS and starting of ‘Dangal’ (a sports activity) thereon, cautioned that if the anti-Muslim activities in Jammu were not stopped, the Muslims of the valley would not remain silent. According to media sources, the forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Jammu brethren would not be left to suffer at the hands of the communal and fascist forces. It also raised serious questions over the role of the police with regarding to the Bishnah incident and said that instead of providing justice to the Muslims, the police high command was covertly helping the RSS goons in their filthy acts due to which the Muslim population of the area are feeling very unsafe there. The forum said that a process of anti-Muslim activities had been started in every Muslim locality from Kishtwar to Ramban, Udhampur, and Poonch and somewhere the Muslims were rendered homeless in the name of vacating the forest land and somewhere attempts were made to forcibly construct the Temples on the Muslim lands. It said that besides the activists and workers of RSS, BJP and Shiv Sena, the armed VDC terrorists were harassing the Muslims everywhere in Jammu and they were being forced for another mass migration. It said that since the inception of the BJP-PDP coalition regime in the territory, the communal and fascist forces were treating the Jammu as their conquered area and they were preparing to repeat another 47 there. The forum said that the Muslims of Jammu were not only threatened and harassed by the communal goons but a strong and planned anti-Muslim process had been launched too. Civil administration, judiciary, bureaucracy, revenue department and police have formally started a genocide process in the area and the Muslim officers are being removed from the key posts and these posts are filled with the RSS minded people, it deplored
In occupied Kashmir, the Muslim Action Committee Jammu has denounced the puppet administration of the territory for pushing the Jammu Muslims to corner and threatened to come to streets if the anti-Muslim activities are not stopped. According to media sources, an emergency meeting of the Muslim Action Committee Jammu held with its President Mohammad Sharif Sartaj in chair where the current situation of the territory was thoroughly discussed. The meeting pledged that any kind of entertainment would not be allowed in the Bagh Jogian Bishnah graveyard in Jammu, adding that the graveyard would be protected at all costs. The participants of the meeting deplored that the Muslims of Jammu were being treated step motherly and the Muslims employees were being transferred to the far-flung areas. They said that recently government lawyers were appointed in Jammu but not a single Muslim lawyer was appointed which showed discrimination with Muslims. They said that the PDP had left Jammu on the mercy of BJP and the BJP was shuffling the administration according to its agenda. In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan paid rich tributes to Shujat-ul-Islam, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khanday and Imtiyaz Ahmad Ittoo of Islamabad on their fifth martyrdom anniversary and expressed dismay that their killers are roaming free. According to media sources, Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar said that years had passed after the magisterial inquiry indicted police officials of killing three teenagers in the compound of a residential house at Anchidora, Islamabad, however the killer cops were never punished. He said that there was no hope of any justice within the Indian dispensation so it was of utmost importance that people of Kashmir should strengthen the resistance movement against the occupation of India. He said this is the only way of remembering and paying homage to martyrs. Meanwhile, APHC leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, addressing a prayer session in Srinagar paid homage to Shujat-ul-Islam, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khanday and Imtiyaz Ahmad Itoo. He said that the blood of Kashmiri martyrs had internationalized the Kashmir dispute and the day was not away when people of Kashmir would get rid of Indian bondages. Mukhtar Waza said that the people of Kashmir would continue their just struggle for securing right to self-determination till taking it to its logical conclusion.
In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani In an indirect reference to puppet Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Sajjad Lone, has said that a devout Muslim would never justify the presence of RSS in Kashmir. According to media sources, Syed Ali Gilani in a media interview in Srinagar voiced concern that Kashmiri Muslim youth were being lured to join the RSS as members. “Every political party is targeting youth, thinking they are the future and builders of nation. They should introspect and adhere to the teachings of Islam to distinguish between right and wrong,” he added. Asked about the comments made by Sajjad Lone about being in a touch with former R&AW chief A S Dulat, Giani said, “Do I need to say more? He has overtly declared himself as an Indian agent.” The veteran leader said that the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are two sides of the same coin who are working on the directives of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)”. Reacting to Sajjad Lone’s interview, a spokesman of the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said the admissions by Lone about his relation to Indian Establishment and Hindu extremist party vindicated their assessment of his doings. “It is below our dignity to comment on this man. We have always maintained a stand regarding this person. Today we stand vindicated,” the spokesman added. Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference in a statement issued in Srinagar terming the recent statement of Sajjad Ghani Lone regarding RSS as ridiculous and contrary to the emotions and aspirations of Kashmiris, said, “RSS anti- Kashmir and anti-Muslim agenda is well known to all, which it is trying to execute in a planned manner through local collaborators.” The APHC added that since 1947 it was the reality that the freedom aspiring people of Kashmir had always expresses their emotional commitment to the movement in various forms
In occupied Kashmir, a policeman was injured in an attack in Kathua district.
According to media sources, the police Constable, Jagdish Singh, was injured when some unidentified gunmen fired upon him at Shahidi Chowk in the district, today, a police official said. The injured was shifted to a hospital in Jammu for treatment, he added. The gunmen managed to escape in a car, he said, adding the vehicle was later recovered from some distance. Police have registered a case and launched a hunt to nab the attackers, the official said.
