Hurriyet leaders, Jahangir Ghani Butt and Mukhtar Ahmed Waza have appealed to the international community to take strong notice of the Indian atrocities on Kashmiris and pressurize New Delhi to stop human rights violations by its troops in the territory.
According to media sources, Jahangir Ghani Butt addressing a meeting of his party Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar said, Jammu and Kashmir is a political dispute and the election drama being staged in the territory by India cannot be an alternative to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
He said that India and its agents should now shun their negative attitude and accept reality of the Kashmir dispute and New Delhi should come forward for its resolution. He said that it was high time that the leaderships of Pakistan and India should take solid steps for resolution of the Kashmir dispute for ensuring regional and global peace. He urged India to shun its traditional stubbornness and initiate measures to settle the dispute.
Jahangir Ghani Butt strongly condemned the killing of three innocent youth by Indian forces’ personnel by opening fire on peaceful protesters in Chadoora area of Budgam district. He said that from last many decades the life and property in Kashmir faced lot of destruction at the hands of Indian forces and the silence adopted by the world human rights organizations over it was surprising and unexpected. He also expressed concern over Indian Army’s door-to-door survey-cum search operation in Sopore, causing fear among the residents.
Mukhtar Ahmed Waza in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India would never succeed to suppress the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people through military might and huge participation of people in the funerals of martyred youth should serve as an eye-opener for New Delhi, which had virtually lost its battle in Kashmir. He asked the leaderships of India and Pakistan to come to the table of negotiations and include the Kashmiris in the dialogue process to resolve the Kashmir dispute, once far all.
Meanwhile, the President of Employees Joint Action Committee, Abdul Qayoom Wani, in a statement in Srinagar condemned the killing of three innocent youth by Indian troops at Chadoora in Budgam. He said that this kind of brutality and inhuman act by Indian men in uniform would not be tolerated. He demanded an impartial probe to bring the culprits to book.
On the other hand, a large number of people in Ajas area of Bandipora district offered funeral prayers in absentia for the three youth martyred by the troops in Chadoora. Later, they held a peaceful protest in main chowk Ajas carrying placards denouncing the killings. Youth in Saderkoot Bala area blocked Bandipora-Srinagar road to register their protest against the killings.
In occupied Kashmir, the pro-freedom leadership has slammed puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, saying that she and other pro-India local politicians are responsible for the prevailing situation in the territory.
According to media sources, Mehbooba Mufti in her remarks while saying “It is highly painful to see the young boys losing their lives” asked the mujahideen to surrender.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani commenting on her remarks in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Pro-India parties work for strengthening Indian occupation. It is quite strange that on one hand they are killing our youth and on the other, they are desperate to enact the election drama for their petty gains.” He said that these politicians were shedding crocodile tears and playing deceit. “They are not sincere otherwise they would have disassociated from pro-India politics,” he said. Syed Ali Gilani said that India had lost its battle and through its henchmen was carrying out its game plan in the territory. “These politicians are worthless and don’t deserve our vote and support,” he said.
The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in his statement said, one fails to make sense of Mufti’s expression of grief over the killing when, as the so-called CM, she is completely responsible for the killings. He said, “We don’t know how long we have to fill our graveyards with the bodies of our children and youth killed mercilessly to consolidate the occupation.”
The Mirwaiz said youth, in the course of their deep desire to end oppression, become the direct target of the Indian state terrorism. “Does Mehbooba not hear the chants of freedom slogans of hundreds and thousands of people while attending the funeral prayers of the martyrs?” he asked.
The illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in a statement in Srinagar said that the puppet chief minister who issued orders to forces and police could not become a judge by shedding crocodile tears. “By accusing the oppressed instead of stopping her killer forces, she has crossed every limit of political decency,” he said, adding that Mehbooba being the so-called chief minister and home minister was responsible for issuing orders to killer troops and police.
Asking people to remain vigilant, the JKLF Chairman said, “The so-called Indian elections only strengthen the occupation and the hands of oppressors. We as a living nation should stay away from any kind of participation in these farce elections.”
Indian police personnel in their continued nocturnal raids in southern parts of Kashmir arrested at least 12 youth from Arihal in Pulwamafor area of Pulwama district.
According to media sources, reports said that the police raided the village on Wednesday night and arrested at least twelve youth for participating in anti-India demonstrations.
Last week police arrested more than five dozen youth from several villages of the district.
The police are also continuing nocturnal raids in Srinagar, Islamabad, Kulgam and other areas ahead of the so-called Indian Parliamentary elections to be held in Srinagar and Islamabad constituencies on 9th and 12th April, 2017.
The joint resistance leadership Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has come down heavily on the puppet administration for arresting youth during nocturnal raids. The leadership has termed the crackdown as state terrorism.
