Does it not matter now?” the spokesperson asked.  “Another way to contain the situation is blocking internet services randomly and repeatedly. Despite such severe repression and curbs people of Kashmir are coming out on the streets to register their protest against oppression and killings and resistance to forcible control,” he said. “The propaganda that anyone gets paid for protesting is baseless. People protest because there is severe repression and suppression in every form and our youth and civilians are killed mercilessly by the forces,” the statement added. “Unless the basic issue of Kashmir is addressed, resistance to repression and for justice will manifest itself in one way or other but will not die out as some believe such tactics can achieve,” it added.
