According to media sources, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited Dialgam, Wahihama and Arwani areas of Islamabad district and expressed solidarity with the family members of the youth martyred by Indian troops.

Addressing gatherings in these areas, he said that the Hurriyat leadership was determined to carry forward the mission of Kashmiri martyrs till it reached its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, the forum spokesman in a statement in Srinagar condemned the arrest of forum delegation which was on way to Beerwah in Budgam district to express solidarity with the family of martyred Tanveer Ahmed Wani who was recently killed by Indian Army. The delegation comprising Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi, Peer Ghulam Nabi, Farooq Ahmed Saudagar and Muhammad Sidiq Hazar was lodged in Beerwah police station.

The spokesman said that it was the ultimate level of military oppression and highhandedness in occupied Kashmir that people were not even allowed to mourn the deaths and to express sympathy with the bereaved families.

He termed the approach of Indian government and its forces towards resistance leadership as a pure political vendetta which is aimed at muzzling the genuine dissent in Kashmir and also to build pressure on the resistance leaders to stop raising voice for right to self-determination of people.
