In occupied Kashmir, terming the police and civil administration of turning into over-ground workers of Sangh Parivar and other anti-Kashmir forces, member of the so-celled Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed, has condemned the puppet administration for disallowing Friday prayers at Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid.
According to media sources, Engineer Abdur Rasheed in a statement issued in Srinagar said that it was strange that the puppet regime was doing everything to facilitate Amarnath Yatra and ensure safe journey of the yatris but the local people were being deprived of their religious rights. He said that it was shameful that the puppet authorities could not ensure congregational Friday prayers which hardly take an hour to complete. Engineer Rasheed said that the administration had been more than cruel not only for common Kashmiris but to Hurriyat leaders, Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, by curbing their fundamental and religious freedom. Those preaching safeguarding and respecting dignity and honour of the women fail to answer why the administration is so scared of Hurriyat leader, Aasiya Andrabi, who has been jailed in a miserable cell at Jammu Jail, he said.
