According to media sources, APHC leader and JKPM Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem, while interacting with the party workers in Jammu said that some vested elements were trying to create an impression that the Jammu Muslims had nothing to do with the ongoing struggle and they were satisfied with the geo-political status quo of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, this cannot be acceptable to the Muslims of Jammu. Mir Shahid Saleem said, how can Jammu Muslims forget one of the worst ethnic cleansing in the world’s history when more than three hundred thousand Muslims were butchered and an equal number of them were forced to flee their native place to take refuge in Pakistan? He said that properties worth thousands of crores in Jammu were still waiting to be taken over by the real owners. The APHC leader said that the political affiliation of Jammu’s Pirpanchal and Chenab Valley regions had always been with the people of Kashmir who had never accepted the sixty seven years of illegal rule of New Delhi. He appealed to the Muslims of Jammu not to fall in the trap of the nefarious elements that were hell bent upon creating confusion in the actual narrative of the Kashmir dispute. Meanwhile, the JKPM has condemned the brutal killing of 12th class student, Adil Farooq Magray, by Indian troops in Shopian. It deplored that Indian forces were targeting innocent Kashmiris especially the students to suppress the ongoing freedom movement.
