In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown, marked by anti-India demonstrations, is being observed in Islamabad town, today, against the brutalities of Indian police.
According to media sources, all shops, business establishments, schools and government offices are closed while traffic is off the road in the town.
Local people told mediamen that one of the teargas shells fired by the police landed in a residential house in Reshi Bazar area of the town, yesterday, which turned four houses into ashes.
Scores of youth raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans assembled in the town, today, to protest against the atrocities of the police. The police used brute force on the demonstrators, triggering clashes between the protesters and the police personnel.
A local traders’ body of Islamabad took out a protest rally in Lal Chowk against the forces’ brutalities.
On the other hand, scores of youth in Beerwah town offered funeral prayers in absentia for martyred Hizb commander, Sabzar Ahmed Butt, and other youth recently martyred by Indian troops. They also raised slogans in favour of freedom and against India.
