Court Quashes Detention of JKML Leader

A court has quashed the illegal detention order of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League district President, Assadulllah Paray, under draconian law, Public Safety Act, and directed police to release him, immediately.

According to media sources, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Tak who pleaded the case of Assadulllah Paray in a statement issued in Srinagar said that police had arrested his client on fake charges. “He was booked by Bandipora police. His detention order was passed on February 16, this year,” Bashir Tak said. Justice Muhammad Yaqoob Mir quashed Assadulllah Paray’s detention order under the PSA and directed police to release him.
