All Parties Hurriyet Conference has hit out at puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed saying that in the garb of development slogan he is actually furthering the agenda of BJP and Sangh Parivar to change the political, geographical and cultural character of Jammu and Kashmir. According to media sources, this was stated in a joint meeting of APHC’s Executive and General Councils at Nigeen in Srinagar, yesterday. The meeting was presided over by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
“Reacting to the Mufti Sayeed’s assertions on Kashmir, the meeting observed that Mufti should be aware of this reality that peace in Kashmir was directly linked to the resolution of Kashmir dispute,” said a Hurriyet spokesman in a statement after the meeting. “Lasting peace in Kashmir could only be established once the dispute was resolved by engaging all the stakeholders in a meaningful and purposeful dialogue so that a mutually accepted solution could be reached at. The people of Kashmir do not want peace of graveyard but peace with dignity and honour where they could have freewill to decide about their affairs,” the statement added. “This could be possible only by addressing the basic issue of Kashmir and until that was not done, the dream of permanent peace in the region would remain a distant dream,” the spokesman said. Asserting that APHC’s stand on the settlement of the Kashmir dispute was clear, the meeting observed that by ignoring the fact “No Solution Without Self-Representation” any resolution of Kashmir issue could not be found and any effort to embark on this path would be contrary to the ground realities as well as political aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the statement maintained. “It was reiterated that Hurriyet would continue struggle for a just and permanent resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with norms of established international law or through a meaningful dialogue among India, Pakistan and the basic party to the dispute, the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement further said.
veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the so-called democratic India is using its all machinery and military might to suppress the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for securing their right to self-determination. According to media sources, Syed Ali Gilani addressing a gathering via telephone from New Delhi in Islamabad town said, “We openly challenge the Indian military occupation in Kashmir. Our goal is that till a single Indian trooper is present on the soil of Jammu & Kashmir, our struggle will continue in any way and at any cost.” The event was organized by the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet district Islamabad. “There are every kind of resources at the disposal of India and its agents and the so-called democratic country is using its military might to stifle the just and genuine voice of the Kashmiri people,” he added. “Our energy to fight against this force lies in our pious character and our dedication, determination and our principles can defeat the arrogance and pride of India,” the octogenarian leader said. While advising his party cadres, activists and sympathizers to concentrate on their character building, the veteran leader said, “Only a disciplined team of honest, truthful and pious souls can bring revolution and change.” The provisional President of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, Amir Hamza, District President Islamabad, Mir Hafizullah and Deputy Secretary, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi also spoke on the occasion.
Forceful anti-India demonstrations erupted in Tral area of Pulwama district, today, against the killing of a civilian by Indian troops. According to media sources, the civilian, Khalid Muzzafar Wani, was killed by the troops in Kamla forests of Tral, yesterday. The protesters told mediamen that Khalid Muzzafar was killed in a fake encounter. They chanted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, demanding stern action against the troops involved in the killing. The victim was pursuing diploma in stenography. The martyr’s father said that his son was killed in a fake encounter but the authorities were cooking up stories. He said that Khalid had left home in the afternoon on Monday and did not return.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the atrocities committed against the Kashmiri detainees by the authorities of different jails in India. According to media sources, Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that many Kashmiri prisoners were on a hunger strike in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail against the atrocities committed against them by the prison authorities. The prisoners, named in the JKLF statement, include Muzzafar Ahmad Dar, Talib Lali, Mushtaq Ahmad and Dawood Ahmad. “These inmates after spending many years of incarceration in Srinagar Central Jail were shifted to Tihar Jail. They are being tortured on a regular basis,” Yasin Malik said. “Prison authorities raided their barracks recently and snatched all their belongings. When these inmates protested on this oppression, they were beaten up with canes and gun-butts. Many inmates got injured in this brutal attack and from that day, prisoners are on a hunger strike,” he added. The statement informed that father of one of the inmates; Muzzfar Ahmad Dar, visited JKLF office and said that the kith and kin of these prisoners were worried about their safety inside the jail. Yasin Malik appealed to the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), Amnesty International, Asia Watch and others human rights organizations to intervene immediately and save the lives of these Kashmiri prisoners.
Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference leader, Jahangir Ghani Butt, has called upon India and Pakistan to come forward in a big way to find out a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute. According to media sources, Jahangir Ghani Butt while addressing a party meeting in Srinagar said that the time had come when India should shun its obduracy and hold talks with Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir dispute. He also called for associating the Kashmiri leadership with the dialogue process. The MC leader said that the settlement of the Kashmir imbroglio would pave the way for a new era of peace, progress and prosperity in the entire South Asia. The meeting was attended by other MC leaders including Abdul Qayyum and Muhammad Mqbool Dar.
Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two youth in Tral area of Pulwama district. According to media sources, 22-year old Muhammad Khalid Wani was killed in a fake encounter by Indian troops at Kamla forests in Tral while another Younus Ahmad Ganai, who was critically injured in the firing by troops, succumbed to his injuries. On the other hand, over a dozen people were injured after Indian police fired bullets on people during protest demonstrations against the Indian state terrorism in the town. One critically injured youth, Abdul Rashid Hajjam, has been shifted to Srinagar. Thousand of people including Hurriet leaders, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Mushtaqul Islam, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Yasmeen Raja attended the funeral procession of the victim youth. Anti-India protest demonstrations and clashes between people and Indian paramilitary forces were going on till last reports came in.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik and senior Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt were arrested while they were on the way to Tral to take part in funeral prayers of a civilian killed in a fake encounter by Indian troops. According to media sources, Yasin Malik and Masarrat Aalam Butt were detained along with their associates and were lodged in Awantipora police station, police said. On the other hand, APHC leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was stopped by Indian police at Awantipora and was not allowed to enter Tral town to express solidarity with victim family. Meanwhile, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has given a call for Tral Chaloo on Friday against the cold blooded murder of Khalid Muzaffar and Younus Ahmad Ganai. Other Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Masarrat Aalm Butt, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Zamrooda Habib, Fareeda Behanji, while strong condemning the killings have appealed to world rights bodies to take notice of the Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.
